China's higher maritime education originated in Shanghai. From 65438 to 0909, the Department of Shipping Administration of Shanghai Higher Institute of Technology (Nanyang College) of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications initiated higher maritime education in China in the late Qing Dynasty.
