The predecessor of Hunan Engineering Vocational College is Hunan Geological School founded by 1958 and "July 21st" of Hunan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources founded by 1978. In 2002, Hunan Engineering Vocational College was merged with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's Government.
