The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Jilin University was formerly the Department of Mechanical Manufacturing of Changchun Automobile Tractor College, which was founded in 1955. Established by Jiaotong University, Huazhong Institute of Technology and Shandong Institute of Technology, the first batch of graduate students were recruited in China in the same year.
