Tsinghua University University is an institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), with "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project" and "World-class University and First-class Discipline". As a member of Asia University and Pacific Rim University, it is known as the "cradle of red engineers" and one of the most famous universities in China.
Its predecessor was Tsinghua University, which was founded in 19 1 1, and was named after Tsinghua Campus in the northwest suburb of Beijing. 19 12, renamed Tsinghua school. 1928, renamed National Tsinghua University. 1938, moved to Kunming and changed its name to National Southwest Associated University. 1946, moved back to Tsinghua campus to resume school. After 1949, it was renamed as "Tsinghua University".
