The school was founded by General Wang Zhen in 1958, and it is located in Peide Town, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. 1959, General Wang Zhen, then Minister of Agricultural Reclamation and President of Bayi Agricultural Reclamation School, wrote to Jiang Ruiyuan and other school leaders: "Decided to build a new agricultural university site in Hulin." However, due to natural and financial reasons, the school relocation plan stopped.

At the beginning of the school, the school was named Agricultural University of Heilongjiang Railway Corps Land Reclamation Bureau, during which Mishan Land Reclamation Bureau was also hung up. 1958 10 10 On October 30th, General Wang Zhen gave a speech at the fertilizer accumulation site meeting of the school, saying, "Class 8 of the Department of Agriculture asked me to give the Agricultural University a name because it means * * *. Comrades, can we call it' Bayi Agricultural University'? " On June 8, 1959, the Ministry of Land Reclamation issued the Notice on the Naming of Bayi Agricultural University, and the school was officially named as Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University.

In the second year of the Cultural Revolution, a faction of the school, the Red Rebel Regiment, successfully seized power. 1March 9, 967, the school was renamed Junken University, and the Revolutionary Committee of Junken University was established. Two months later, the school was renamed Northeast Agricultural University. 1967 On April 30th, Mudanjiang Revolutionary Committee approved the establishment of "Revolutionary Committee of Northeast Agricultural University".

1September 2, 969, the school was placed under the management of Heilongjiang production and construction corps, and soon the school was revoked. 1973, the school resumed and was named "shenyang military area command Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps China People's Liberation Army Agricultural Reclamation University". 1976 The Corps was abolished and the school was renamed "Heilongjiang Agricultural University". 1978 On July 7th, the school party committee asked the superior to restore the name of Bayi Agricultural University. 1September 4, 978, the provincial revolutionary Committee officially approved the restoration of the name of "Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University". Moved to Daqing High-tech Development Zone in June 2003.
