School of Modern Engineering and Applied Science of Nanjing University started to build in 2009 and was listed on February 30, 2009. 20 1 1 in may, the foundation stone was laid for the engineering building (Zhenjiang building) in Xianlin campus. The School of Modern Engineering and Applied Science of Nanjing University is based on physics, chemistry, materials and other physical sciences, relying on the State Key Laboratory of Solid Microstructure Physics and the State Key Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry of Nanjing University, and is composed of well-known experts, scholars and teams in the fields of materials, optics, energy and biomedical engineering at home and abroad. It is a new type of engineering school that faces the country's major technical needs and strategic emerging industries, and carries out professional construction and personnel training around new materials, new energy, information industry and biotechnology.
In addition to the national second-class key discipline of materials physics and chemistry, the first-class key discipline of materials science and engineering in Jiangsu Province, the dominant discipline of materials science and engineering in Jiangsu Province, and the postdoctoral mobile station of materials science and engineering, the Institute of Technology also has two first-class disciplines authorized by doctors: materials science and engineering and optical engineering. The discipline of materials ranks first in the world 1%, and ranks 79th in the world.
