Fuzhou University, referred to as Dafu for short, is located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and was founded in 1958. It is a national "double-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 project" construction university, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Fujian Province, and three key construction universities in Fujian Province.

First-class universities in Fujian Province have been selected into the National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" universities of the Ministry of Education, the new engineering research and practice project, and the "Hundred Schools Project" project of Data China.
