Let's talk about what it's like to study at Cambridge University.
I studied undergraduate and master's degree in natural science in Cambridge, and now I am going to continue my PhD in chemistry. I want to say that a doctorate is really much easier! The feeling of undergraduate course is that everything is in a hurry, the semester is very short, the course is very big, and I am busy socializing and exercising. I wish I could spend 25 hours every day. Every morning on the hour, the streets and alleys in the city center are crowded with students rushing to class. I have seen walking, cycling, skateboarding and even unicycle. Professors are also sympathetic to students and always have a tacit understanding. It takes five minutes to speak on the hour. Generally, there is no course arrangement from/kloc-0 to 2 pm, and students can feed themselves. I really didn't adapt when I first came here as a freshman. I was so hungry to have lunch so late, and I couldn't go back to college for dinner in such a short time, so I bought a cold sandwich, which made it difficult for me to swallow. But then I got used to it and regarded food as a necessity rather than enjoyment. In the afternoon, general experimental classes will be arranged, or teachers will supervise students, and each class will last for one week. You should hand in your homework to the teacher for approval in advance. There are only two students in a small class. You never dare not hand in your homework or play truant. Although small classes are never graded, if teachers fail to hand in their homework or perform poorly for a long time, they can report to the learning director of the student college and then be asked to talk. Now I take three groups of students as tutors in my spare time when I am studying PhD. In fact, being a teacher is also very hard. I have to prepare lessons, approve homework and explain. Some students really don't know when to be blessed. If they don't study hard, it's really a waste of money and resources spent by the college. In other words, undergraduate colleges are very concerned about students' study and life. Everyone has a director of the academic affairs office and a college tutor, and they should be arranged to meet and chat alone before and at the end of the semester. So three semesters a year are 12 one-on-one meetings! After finishing high school in China, I went directly to Cambridge to study undergraduate. Because of the conditional admission, Cambridge also asked me to provide my own college entrance examination results, so that I can go back to high school directly if I have been admitted to several universities in the United States and plan not to take the college entrance examination, and I have also crossed the wooden bridge that life must pass.
