The policy of children from low-income families going to college
Legal analysis: priority should be given to orphans and disabled students, students whose parents have lost the ability to work, ethnic minority students, children of martyrs, students from single-parent families with financial difficulties, students from rural families with absolute poverty, students from families enjoying the minimum living security policy for urban residents, students from families with financial difficulties caused by emergencies, students from rural family planning only children and students from two-daughter families. The funding criteria for admission of funded projects are: 500 yuan for each new student admitted to colleges and universities in provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and 1 000 yuan for each new student admitted to colleges and universities outside provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government). The grant is used to subsidize the transportation expenses from home to the admitted institution and the short-term living expenses after admission.

Legal basis: Article 8 of the Interim Measures for the Administration of Subsidized Projects for Freshmen from Poor Families in Colleges and Universities. The funding criteria for the bursary project are: 500 yuan is admitted to colleges and universities in provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government), and new students are admitted to colleges and universities outside provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) 1 000 yuan.
