Jingxin Academy is a famous academy founded in 1869 by Zhang Zhidong, a famous minister in the late Qing Dynasty. When Zhang Zhidong was a political student in Hubei, Hubei had just experienced war, people migrated and books were scattered. The former Jianghan Academy has an outdated educational model and a narrow venue. He and Li Hongzhang, then governor of Huguang and Hubei, agreed to build Jingxin Academy in Wuchang, which later became a model for leading local education reform and cultivating new talents in the late Qing Dynasty.

140 years later, Xiong Huamin, a member of Hubei Youth Federation, decided to rebuild Jingxin Academy after learning of its unusual significance to the development of modern education in our province.
