Brief introduction of Peking Union Medical College:
Peking Union Medical College is the only key medical university directly under the National Health and Family Planning Commission, integrated with China Academy of Medical Sciences, and is a national medical science academic center and comprehensive scientific research institution. Peking Union Medical College was founded by Rockefeller Foundation in the United States in 19 17, and an eight-year medical undergraduate program was established in 19 19. It is the first medical college in China to offer eight-year clinical medicine specialty and undergraduate nursing education, and is known as the Chinese Medical Hall.
Introduction of Capital Medical University:
Capital Medical University, founded in 1960, is a key institution of higher learning in Beijing, a famous urologist and an academician of the two academies. Professor Wu Jieping, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), is the first president and honorary president for life. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, featuring Chinese medicine. It is one of the key construction institutions of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". Selected by "1 1 plan" and sponsored by Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission and state administration of traditional chinese medicine. Founded in 1956 and formerly known as Beijing College of Chinese Medicine, the school is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of Chinese medicine in New China. On 1993, it was renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. In 2000, it merged with Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopaedics to form the new Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
