Approved by the Ministry of Education, the School of Economics was upgraded from the former Department of Economics of Xiamen University on September 198 15, and its inaugural meeting was held on May 24th 1982. It is the school of economics established by the first key comprehensive university in Chinese mainland and one of the most important teaching and research bases of economics in China. It has always been in a leading position in the field of national economics and has a certain influence in the world.
Wang Yanan Economic Research Institute is a substantial educational and scientific research institution. Under the impetus of WISE, the research paradigm of Xiamen University's economics has changed from qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis, which is in line with international standards, and the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis has truly realized the integration with modern economics.
