The origin of the name

Among the names of the old buildings in Xiamen University, from the connotation, the most important ones are "Capsule Firefly" and "Snow". The former comes from the Biography of Che Yin in the Book of Jin, which says that "Yin is well-read, the poor don't often get oil, and dozens of fireflies take photos in summer nights"; Later, Liao Yongxian, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, wrote "There are still records" and "Sun Kang, who is sensitive and eager to learn, is poor and has no oil, and studies in the snow in winter". These two stories were designed by the ancients to persuade students to learn. China people are well-known. 2 historical origins

Chen Jiageng, the principal at that time, chose this vast virgin land near the mountains and seas as the school site. On May 9, 192 1, the first five buildings of the martial arts field were officially started, and Mr. Jia Geng personally presided over the groundbreaking ceremony. In the whole construction process, Mr. Wang paid attention to inheriting and carrying forward the national tradition, used local materials and laid the cornerstone with granite rich in southern Fujian, which was durable, elegant and beautiful. The stairs of the building are also carefully carved with granite step by step, and there is no noise when walking, which is a pioneering work in the domestic university buildings at that time. In just over a year, five buildings were completed, and the middle building was named "Qunxian", which is a deep expectation for Qunxian? Tongan Building and Jimei Building are right-handed and left-handed, so they should be named for the gratitude of school owners to their hometown?
