Except for a few majors, Qingdao University moved to the central campus from freshman to sophomore. Only the Medical College, the Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts and the Teachers College have been in the central campus, while the Software College and the International College have been in the east campus.

International colleges recruit liberal arts students, usually three. Others, such as the Faculty of Arts, the School of Economics and the School of Foreign Languages, all recruit liberal arts students.
