China Communication University (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongchuan") is located in Beijing, and it is an industry-specific university in the field of information and communication directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national "double first-class" university, a national "2 1 1 Engineering" key university and a national "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" university.
This school is a national "11/plan", "national postgraduate training plan for building a high-level university", "national undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training plan", the sponsor of Asian campus selection, the International Media Higher Education Alliance, the UNESCO Chair in Media and Women, and an institution for overseas students to receive scholarships from the China government.
The school's predecessor was the training course for technicians of the Central Broadcasting Bureau, which was founded in 1954. 1958 was renamed Beijing Broadcasting Institute. 1959 approved by the State Council, the school was upgraded to Beijing Broadcasting Institute. In 2000, it was transferred from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television to the Ministry of Education.
In 200 1 year, it was identified as the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university. In 2002, China University of Mining and Technology Beijing Campus (formerly Beijing Coal Management Cadre College) East Campus was merged into Beijing Broadcasting Institute. In September 2004, it was renamed China Communication University.
