Two. Brief introduction of Three Gorges University
Approved by the Ministry of Education, the Three Gorges University was formed on May 25th, 2000 by the merger of the former Wuhan Institute of Water Resources and Electric Power (Yichang) and the former Hubei Three Gorges University. The former Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Power (Yichang) was formerly known as Gezhouba Hydropower Engineering College, which was established in 1978. It is subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and the State Power Company. 1996 merged with the former Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power to form a new Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, which became an important part of "Project 2 1 1" to build a university. The former Hubei Three Gorges College was formed by the merger of Yichang Normal College, Yichang Medical College and Yichang Vocational College on 1996.
The history of the school can be traced back to 1923. Undergraduate education began in 1978, and it is the first batch of bachelor's degree awarding units in China. 1996 started postgraduate education, 1998 trained doctoral students. The school enrolls students from 3/kloc-0 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and more than 60 countries (regions) nationwide, and has fully entered the first place in national enrollment.
The school has the right to award doctor's degree, and has the qualification of recommending excellent undergraduates to study for master's degree and minority preparatory students without examination, the qualification of enrolling international students in China and China government scholarship students (CSC), and the qualification of enrolling international students majoring in clinical medicine (teaching in English) without examination.
The school has 1 postdoctoral research mobile station, 4 first-class doctoral programs and 26 first-class master programs. During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, 1 1 provincial key first-level disciplines were approved; During the 13 th Five-Year Plan period, two provincial-level advantageous discipline groups were approved; Law, education, business administration, accounting, electronic information, clinical medicine and other master's degree authorization points 19 categories and 27 fields. At present, there are 30 colleges and 72 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, medicine, economics, management, law, teaching and art, including 5 undergraduate majors with national characteristics and 0 undergraduate majors with provincial brands. Approve 7 majors of the National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan and 1 National Undergraduate Major Comprehensive Reform Pilot Project; 9 provincial strategic emerging (pillar) industrial plans, 6 provincial undergraduate comprehensive reform pilot projects, and 3 provincial "Jingchu outstanding talents" collaborative education plan projects; There are 3 national quality courses, 2 national quality video open courses, 3 national quality resources 1, 3 national planning textbooks, 20 provincial quality courses, 4 provincial quality video open courses, 8 provincial quality resources, and provincial quality online open courses 1. 2 national teaching teams and 3 provincial teaching teams; There are 2 provincial pilot colleges and universities, and the provincial top-notch innovative talents training pilot project 1 unit. There are 22 full-time undergraduates, 4,485 doctoral and master students and 400 overseas students.
