Yamanashi Gakuin University (YKU for short) is a well-known comprehensive private university founded by its founder Koya Koichi in 1946, located in Jiafu City, the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture.

Law school ranks among the top five in Japan in terms of the employment rate of local civil servants, and the Ministry of Sports is famous for winning all kinds of medals in national university leagues all the year round and training many Olympic representatives. It is the only university in Yamanashi Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture with a management department.

Since 1993, it has signed academic exchange and unit exchange agreements with Nankai University, Fudan University, Xi Jiaotong University, Nanchang University, China Institute of Personnel Science and Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences. 20 19 became the first 15 university in Japan to establish a Confucius Institute.
