At the same time, two night schools were set up to teach literacy, abacus, knitting, embroidery, agricultural knowledge and military training. The school also founded the Journal of Sanjin Primary School, and several excellent works were published in the children's supplement of Wuhan Daily at that time.
In the process of establishing Sanjin Primary School, Li spent a lot of money. He recruited civilian children to school at a very low cost, and some of them were free of tuition. He broke through the shackles of feudal thought, accepted both boys and girls and went to night school regardless of age. The school was closed on 1935 due to financial reasons. Li sold the wooden boat and ox cart at home as food expenses and sent the invited students back to their hometown. On the day of departure, the villagers set off firecrackers, and the teachers and students said goodbye with tears. 1945 after the Japanese invaders surrendered, Li returned to Shuihongkou, resumed Sanjin Primary School and added junior high school classes. Soon, Li was transferred to Hanyang County as the chief of education and concurrently served as the principal of Hanyang County No.1 Middle School. Sanjin Primary School is presided over by members of the Li family. By the liberation of 1949, three primary schools had trained more than 400 students, many of whom were admitted to institutions of higher learning and took part in the revolution.
Li Qidong is upright, cheerful and revolutionary. During the Anti-Japanese War, he secretly provided military supplies for the guerrillas living in Shuihongkou area, supported the guerrillas in life and covered the safe transfer of revolutionary cadres.
From 65438 to 0949, a temporary relief meeting was organized in Hanyang County to maintain social order and welcome the PLA into the city. 1959, Li was wrongly sentenced to 15 years in prison. Li refused to accept the appeal and was rejected. First served his sentence in Caidian Xinsheng Brick Factory, and his sentence was reduced by 2 years for outstanding performance. Later, he went to Inner Mongolia to serve his sentence and repair baotou-lanzhou railway. Due to good performance, 1960 was released early and stayed in Inner Mongolia.
1972 returned to his hometown at the age of 62.
1In August, 986, the Wuhan Intermediate People's Court retried Li's case according to law, holding that the evidence of the original judgment was inaccurate and should be denied, thus restoring Li's reputation. Hou Li was elected as a member of the District Political Consultative Conference.
1988 Li died in Shuihongkou at the age of 80.
