Review of Novel Monthly
The executive editor of Network Fiction Monthly answered the reporter Wu Pianpian's question, and the contents are as follows:

Q: Today, with the rapid popularization of the Internet, many literary lovers and literary researchers can easily access the articles in the online edition of periodicals, and many authors are willing to publish articles on their own literary blogs in order to obtain a larger click-through rate than the circulation of periodicals. Do you think the internet has an impact on the circulation of literary periodicals or other aspects? What do you think of this problem?

A: The impact of the Internet on literary journals is certain. This influence does not necessarily directly affect the circulation of literary periodicals, because the circulation of literary periodicals has been in a downturn for a long time. The influence of the Internet on literary periodicals is subversive, first of all, on the way of soliciting contributions, the standard of selecting contributions, the publishing procedure, and even the writing style and literary aesthetic concept. It not only affects the publication of literary periodicals, but also affects the survival and development foundation of traditional literary periodicals, because young literary lovers, such as post-80s and younger post-90s, are more keen on the Internet and farther away from literary periodicals.

Q: Communication on the Internet is becoming more and more popular. Do you think it can be a useful tool for literary journals? For example, mining new scholars and so on.

A: Internet communication means not only strongly impacts literary periodicals, but also brings new opportunities to them. It is not easy for literary periodicals to simply "use" network tools, but they can take the initiative to catch the shuttle bus of the network, assemble articles through the network, find network writers and new writers, and then unite netizens and strive for new readers.

Q: Does this publication have any specific activities or initiatives related to the Internet?

A: The online literature anthology invited the column hosts of portal websites Sina and Tianya, as well as online writers and some old authors from more than ten cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Han, and held a forum on "Literary Space and Online Writing" in Donghu, Wuhan. In addition, Netease and Tianya Community jointly held a love story short film contest. And signed a contract with online writers, opened a column of "online writers" in journals, and actively launched new works by writers with high online popularity and high click-through rate. In addition, the magazine regularly publishes a column entitled "Selected Original Literary Works of China on Global Chinese Websites". These activities and initiatives closely related to the Internet have been welcomed and supported by many writers. More netizens, writers and readers began to pay attention to our professional online literature publications and interactive Fangcao.com. We believe that although the prospects of literary periodicals are not optimistic, our periodicals will be more hopeful because of the vitality of online literature.
