South-Central University for Nationalities is a comprehensive university directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is jointly built by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, Hubei Province and Wuhan City, and is located in the hometown of Baiyun Yellow Crane-the shore of South Lake in Wuhan. Founded in 195 1, the school is one of the earliest universities for nationalities after the founding of New China.
The school has more than 29,000 full-time doctoral, master's, undergraduate and preparatory students from 56 ethnic groups. At present, the school has 4 first-class doctoral programs, 25 academic first-class master programs and 20 professional master programs.
