I. Plans and objectives
What we do, the first condition is to draw up a plan, so as not to be chaotic. As the old saying goes, strategizing will win a thousand miles. We should set a good goal according to our actual level and make progress every day, and the final effect will be remarkable.
The study plan can be divided into long-term and short-term: the long-term plan can set the four-year undergraduate English level, and the short-term plan can set the content of each semester, month, week or day. The long-term plan is to set yourself a learning goal, and the short-term plan will remind you to move towards this goal every day.
Second, methods and skills
Method is more important than diligence. Many people feel that they are really studying hard every day, but they have never seen the effect. This may be because there is something wrong with their learning methods. You can start with vocabulary and reading.
1, root affix mnemonic method
To put it simply, the root affix memory method is to use the rules of English words to remember. The most commonly used words are 252 roots and 289 affixes. By mastering these words, we have basically mastered most English vocabulary.
2. Associative memory method
Philosophy books say that things are universally related. For memorizing words, we can also create our own connections. The so-called associative memory method is to use the connection of things to exert one's imagination, so as to get in touch with more words. We can remember it by word-formation association, synonym classification association, Chinese homophonic association, Chinese Pinyin method and so on.
Join an English club and practice oral English in groups every day.
I remember when I was a freshman, sometimes my seniors and sisters would come to the classroom for five minutes before class and "encourage" us to join the club in English. Although no one said anything in the class after class ..............................................................................................................................
Reading and writing involve the application of vocabulary. In fact, the best skill in reading and writing is to practice more. You can stipulate that you should finish reading one or three articles a day and write an English composition with a topic within one or two days, so that you can maintain your sense of English language for a long time. I believe that one day you will marvel at your level.
When improving reading level, we should pay attention to:
Focus on intensive reading and recite more classic chapters.
Intensive reading can be carried out from the following points: First, experience the usage of words and phrases in the context. Remember some important words and phrases. Then I can understand the structure of sentences, the arrangement of sentence patterns and the cohesion between sentences. And try to translate some of these sentences, retell and recite classic sentences.
Read an English magazine every month. Persistence is the process from quantitative change to qualitative change. When reading extensively, you should dabble in various types of articles, starting with your familiarity with topics of interest. When reading extensively, you should mainly understand the main meaning of the article, not always limited to the level of individual words or phrases.
Universities should play less games and learn more knowledge. Learning English is very helpful to our future and will create many opportunities for us. I hope you don't waste your time, don't waste this precious four years of youth.
