Small world network model. 1In June, 1998, Watts, a doctoral student in theoretical and applied mechanics Department of Cornell University, and his tutor, Professor Lester Roggatz, put forward a small-world network model, called WS model for short. They published an article entitled "Collective Dynamics of Small World Networks" in the famous British magazine Nature, which aroused widespread interest.
