Huadu District of Guangzhou was originally Hua County and Huadu City. The Han Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Panyu County, the Sui Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Nanhai County, and after the Song Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Panyu and Nanhai. In the 25th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1686), Nanhai and Panyu counties became counties. Because the county seat is located in Huashan, the new county name "Hua" belongs to guangzhou fu.
Huadu District is located in the south subtropical monsoon climate zone, and the general characteristics of perennial climate are: high temperature, much precipitation, long summer and short winter, and long frost-free period. Most of the ancestors of Huadu ancient villages moved south from the Song and Yuan Dynasties, mostly from Nanxiong Zhuji Lane, and most of them were immigrants from the Central Plains. They moved south to this land, lived together and settled down. The ancestral hall has become an important place for clan sacrifice, discussion and holding wedding and funeral gifts.
According to the statistics of cultural relics survey, there are 290 ancestral halls in Huadu District, which are located in almost every village, including all surnames. The style of folk houses can be roughly divided into Guangfu folk houses, Hakka folk houses and modern expatriates, and can also be divided into several categories.
