Shenzhen University, referred to as "Shenzhen University", is located in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Guangdong Province, China. It is a comprehensive university approved by the Ministry of Education, in charge of Guangdong Province and sponsored by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.

It was selected as the key construction university of high-level universities in Guangdong Province, the national cultural quality education base for college students, the national international scientific and technological cooperation base, the national innovation experimental zone for talent training mode, the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students, the national civilized campus, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

The initiator of the National UOOC Local University Alliance, the member units of China-Central and Eastern European Countries University Association, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao University Association and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, is a university with the qualification of recommending graduate students without examination.

Shenzhen University was established on 1983 with the approval of the State Council. The central government, the Ministry of Education and local governments all attach great importance to the construction of universities in the SAR. Peking University aided the construction of Chinese and foreign languages,

The School of Economics of Shenzhen University was formerly the Department of Economic Management of Shenzhen University. It was 1983 when Shenzhen University was founded, and was aided by China Renmin University. 1985, the Department of Economic Management is divided into the Department of Economics and the Department of Management, 1987, and the Department of Economics is divided into the Department of Economics and the Department of International Finance and Trade.

1997 The former Department of Economics, the Department of International Finance and Trade, and the Hong Kong and Macao Economic Research Institute of the Special Economic Zone jointly established the School of Economics. After more than 30 years of accumulation and development, the School of Economics has developed into an important teaching and research center in the field of economic management in the Special Economic Zone.
