At present, the Fisheries Department has faculty members 12, including 4 professors (2 doctoral supervisors) and 3 professors under 45. Teachers with doctoral degrees account for 66.7% of the total number of teachers.
Main research directions:
1. aquaculture ecology: mainly studies the relationship between cultured animals and plants and the environment, the structure and function of aquaculture system, the theory and technology of water quality management, and the system ecology theory of sustainable mariculture.
2. Reproductive biology and breeding technology of aquatic animals: mainly study gonad development, fertilization biology, developmental biology and artificial propagation technology of fish, shrimp and shellfish, as well as fry cultivation and breeding technology.
3. Facility fishery: mainly carry out process design and optimization of circulating water aquaculture system and large aquarium system, new technologies and processes for aquaculture water treatment, and ornamental landscape design. Healthy aquaculture technology of circulating water and ecological regulation technology of aquaculture pollution.
4. Artificial propagation of ornamental fish: mainly study fertilization biology, developmental biology and artificial propagation technology, fry cultivation and breeding technology of ornamental fish.
5. Ornamental aquatic animal diseases mainly study the pathology, diagnosis and prevention techniques of various diseases of ornamental aquatic animals.
