Hunan Humanities University (Science and Technology) is an undergraduate college organized by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, a "double-first-class" high-level application-oriented college in Hunan Province, and a pilot university for postgraduate education in the "Training Program for Talents with Special Needs in Serving the Country" of the Ministry of Education.

Hunan Institute of Humanities and Science and Technology started from Loudi Normal School founded by 1978, and has undergone many changes with the development of history. In 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded and renamed Hunan College of Humanities, and became a full-time undergraduate college.
