Sichuan Conservatory of Music was founded in 1939 as an experimental school for drama education in Sichuan Province, and has gone through the development periods of Sichuan Music Experimental School, Sichuan Institute of Technology, Sichuan Art College, Chengdu Art College and Southwest Conservatory of Music. 1959, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded and renamed Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
Sichuan University Art College was the earliest college established after the merger of 1994, and it was resumed in June 2006. The college has departments of art design, animation, drama, dance, music, cultural management, affiliated technical secondary schools and basic education.
The College of Art consists of seven teaching units, namely, Fine Arts Department, Painting Department, Animation Department, Environmental Design Department, Graphic Design Department, Performance Department, Radio and Television Director Department, Music Department and Dance Department, as well as research institutions such as the Academy of Fine Arts, Environmental Art College, school of visual arts and Calligraphy Art College.
The Conservatory of Music of Sichuan Normal University is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It has many levels of education, such as postgraduate education, undergraduate education, adult education and the education of foreign students, visiting scholars and senior scholars. Offering vocal music, instrumental music (including piano, orchestral folk music and accordion), composition and composition technology theory, conductor, musicology, computer music production and other majors and professional directions.
The predecessors of Sichuan Art Vocational College were Sichuan Opera School founded by 1953 and Sichuan Dance School founded by196/kloc-0 respectively.
