Dalian International Studies University, formerly known as Dalian Japanese College, was founded in 1964 to train Japanese translators urgently needed by the country. 1970 was renamed as Liaoning Foreign Studies University, 1978 was upgraded to Dalian Foreign Studies University, 1986 was awarded a master's degree, and it was renamed as Dalian Foreign Studies University on 20 13. On 20/3, it was approved to serve the national special needs doctor training program.
