When did Hangzhou University merge into Zhejiang University?
Hangzhou University was merged into Zhejiang University in September, 1998.

The predecessor of Zhejiang University was Qiushi College, which was founded in 1897 and closed in 19 14. 1928 National Zhejiang University was newly established in the former site of Qiushi College. 1937 moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan, and 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn.

From 65438 to 0952, some departments of Zhejiang University were placed under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities, and the main part was reorganized into several universities in Hangzhou, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.

The integration measures after the merger of the four schools, although the four schools have the same roots, have developed for 46 years, during which each school developed independently, with considerable scale and level. Moreover, due to the differences in leadership system and internal management, school merger will inevitably involve the adjustment of interest structure, so we must seriously deal with related issues in our work.

The school clearly put forward that after the merger, it is necessary to build a domestic "comprehensive, research-oriented and innovative" university, and it will take 20 years, that is, about 120 years after the establishment of Zhejiang University, to rank among the world-class universities, and put forward a step-by-step implementation plan, that is, laying the foundation in five years, producing results in ten years, and striving to achieve the set goals in ten years, so as to unite people and boost morale.
