Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, referred to as "Inner Mongolia Agricultural University", is located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The school is a full-time ordinary college founded by the former State Forestry Administration and the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is the first "Lei Feng University" in China and the first batch of national college students' cultural quality education bases supported by "one province, one school" in the country's western development.

Scholarships for international students from China government were selected into the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions, the public postgraduate program of national construction of high-level universities, the featured key disciplines and the education and training program of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents. The school is supported by China Agricultural University.

From 65438 to 0952, the former Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Hebei Agricultural College, Pingyuan Agricultural College and Shanxi Agricultural College moved to Guisui to form Inner Mongolia Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College. 1958, Inner Mongolia Forestry College was established; 1960, Inner Mongolia Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College was renamed Inner Mongolia Agricultural and Animal Husbandry College; 65438-0999 Inner Mongolia Agricultural College and Inner Mongolia Forestry College merged to form Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.
