Integrated Circuit Research Institute is an important measure to respond to the national call, serve the national strategy, promote the development of integrated circuits in China, deepen the interdisciplinary integration, better support the construction of "new engineering" in Peking University, help the construction of the national integrated circuit production and teaching integration innovation platform, and accelerate the joint training of integrated circuit talents.
Peking University is the birthplace of microelectronics and integrated circuits in new China. At present, the Institute of Integrated Circuits has established a national innovation platform for the integration of production and education of integrated circuits, a national key laboratory for micro/nano processing technology, a high-tech innovation center for integrated circuits, and a key laboratory for microelectronic devices and circuits of the Ministry of Education.
As well as international cooperation platforms such as "Micro-nano electronic science innovation and intelligence introduction base in post-Moore era", it has a world-class cutting-edge research and experimental environment for micro-nano processing and integration, device/chip design and testing, and has formed a distinctive international first-class teaching and research system.
Characteristics of integrated circuit engineering
Integrated circuit is one of the most important scientific and technological inventions of mankind in the 20th century, and its invention marks that mankind has entered the information age. Integrated circuit engineering is an engineering major at graduate level, which belongs to the first-class interdisciplinary fields such as electronic science and technology, information and communication engineering, computer science and technology.
This major is oriented to high-tech fields such as Internet of Things, new media, all-optical network, cloud computing, big data, blockchain, radio and television, edge computing, artificial intelligence, and new generation mobile communication network. It mainly trains high-level, wide-ranging and compound hardware R&D and design talents in the field of electronic information.
