The Institute takes the National Powder Metallurgy Engineering Research Center as an "incubator" to transform high-tech industries. The main scientific and technological products include aviation and automobile friction materials, antifriction materials, iron (copper)-based powder metallurgy mechanical parts, powder injection molding products, high-density alloys and refractory metal materials, magnetic materials, electrical alloy products, special ceramic products, biomaterials, nano-powders and materials, fine (special-shaped) cemented carbide products, superhard materials and various metal and alloy powders. On 1999, the institute took the lead in passing the ISO900 1 international quality system certification in the national education system.
