At present, Sun Yat-sen University has 38 national scientific research innovation platforms and 243 provincial and ministerial platforms, and the school vigorously promotes the construction of major scientific and technological infrastructure. Breakthroughs have been made in the construction of major platforms and major scientific and technological infrastructure clusters, such as Qin Tian Center, Southern Ocean Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai), Sun Yat-sen University's comprehensive marine scientific research ship, Sun Yat-sen University's polar icebreaking scientific research ship, National Supercomputing Guangzhou Center, Precision Medical Science Center, South China Advanced Biosafety Laboratory, Zhong Da Spectrometer, and Green Chemistry and Molecular Engineering Research Institute, and an innovative system supporting future development is taking shape.
The School of Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University has a long history and strong strength, and the earliest western medicine education in China was born here. At present, the reform of medical education and teaching in Sun Yat-sen University has been further promoted, and the innovation of medical scientific research is changing with each passing day. There are 10 directly affiliated hospitals, and a medical rescue service network system with complete categories, strong strength, leading technology, advanced equipment, complementary advantages and strong social responsibility has been established.
