TOEFL requires candidates to bring their own signed passports or two types of documents, at least one of which is required. Taiwan Province residents must and can only hold Taiwan Province residents' passes to and from the mainland. Personal information such as name and birthday on the certificate must be completely consistent with the registration information. Candidates who carry documents that do not meet the requirements will be refused to enter the examination room, and the examination fee will not be refunded.

The first type of documents accepted in TOEFL include valid China passport, official ID card and China military officer's card. The second type of documents accepted are legal and valid identity certificates issued by government departments, including China passport, official resident identity card, military officer's card, driver's license, student ID card, official identity certificate with photos and official seal issued by student status management department or public security organ.

The documents that TOEFL does not accept include but are not limited to: any expired documents, any forged documents, international driver's license, international student identity card, any study card, any credit card, notarial certificate (book), social insurance card, work permit (certificate), any temporary documents, any copy, etc.

During the TOEFL test, candidates must be present at least 30 minutes before the test begins. If the exam starts at 8:00 am, candidates must arrive at the examination room before 7:30 am. Examiners have the right to refuse candidates who arrive later than this time to enter the examination room. Candidates who are late will not be refunded or retested.
