East China Normal University, referred to as "East China Normal University", is located in Shanghai and directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It was rated as "Class A of World-class University Construction", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project", and was selected as "Strong Foundation Plan", "201Plan" and "1/kloc-0". National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, founding member of Yangtze River Delta University Cooperation Alliance, BRICS University Alliance, Asia-Pacific University College Alliance and China-Japan Humanities Exchange University Alliance, the State Council approved the establishment of a graduate school, and the degree authorized an independent auditing unit.

East China Normal University was founded on June 195 1 month 1 6, and transferred to some departments of Daxia University (1924) and Guanghua University (1925). 1972 merged with Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education and other institutions and changed its name to Shanghai Normal University. 1980 Restore the name of East China Normal University. 1997- 1998, Shanghai Preschool Teachers College, Shanghai Education College and Shanghai Second Education College merged successively.

As of June 5438+ 10, 2020, the school has two campuses, Minhang and Zhongshan North Road, with a total area of about 207 hectares. There are 4 departments, 30 full-time colleges, 4 colleges, 8 entity research institutes, 2 management colleges, 1 training center for middle school principals of the Ministry of Education.
