There are two universities in Sanmenxia. According to the website for college students, Sanmenxia College includes Sanmenxia Vocational and Technical College, Sanmenxia Social Management Vocational College and other schools, and there are two schools under it, all of which are public schools.

1. Sanmenxia Vocational and Technical College is located in Sanmenxia City. It is a public full-time college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the colleges with the longest running history and the earliest qualification for higher vocational education in Henan Province.

2. Sanmenxia Social Management Vocational College, located in Sanmenxia City, is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Henan Provincial People's Government.
