Fushun Petroleum Institute is an advanced industrial school that trains senior scientific and technological talents for petrochemical modernization. Under the dual leadership of sinopec group and Liaoning Province, with sinopec group as the main leader.

Founded in 1950, the school is the first petroleum industry school in new China. /kloc-moved to Fushun to run a school in 0/953, and was later named Fushun Petroleum School; 1958 upgraded to Fushun petroleum institute; 1970 was renamed Fushun institute of chemical technology; Fushun Petroleum Institute was established in1980; In February 2002, it was renamed Liaoning University of Petrochemical Technology.
