1982 Graduated from the Railway Construction Department of the Railway Corps Engineering College of the People's Liberation Army (now shijiazhuang tiedao university);

1988 and 1995 graduated from the former chongqing jianzhu university institute of civil engineering with master's degree and doctor's degree respectively;

1997- 1998, visiting scholar at the university of California, Berkeley.

He has served as director of civil engineering disaster prevention research office and director of school scientific research department;

He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of Chongqing University Party Committee, Vice President, Dean of Graduate School, Head of Information Department, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor.
