Department of mineral processing engineering
Referred to as "Mineral Processing Department", there is an undergraduate major, namely "Mineral Processing Engineering". This major is one of the trump cards of Kunming University of Science and Technology, and its running history can be traced back to 65438-0925, Department of Mining and Metallurgy, Institute of Technology, private Donglu University, with a history of 82 years. The major of Mineral Processing Engineering was originally named "Selected Useful Minerals". 1965 began to recruit master students, 1983 was granted master's degree, 1986 was granted doctor's degree, and 1998 set up a postdoctoral mobile station for the first-class discipline of mining engineering.
After more than half a century's struggle and development, "Mineral Processing Department" has developed from a single mineral processing major to a comprehensive mineral processing engineering discipline, and its personnel training level has changed from undergraduate, engineering master, engineering master, doctor to postdoctoral, forming a complete system and becoming an important talent training base for mineral processing engineering disciplines in China.
Combining knowledge innovation with technological innovation, combining theory with practice, developing new mineral processing technology and equipment, and vigorously realizing engineering and industrialization are the traditions and characteristics formed in this discipline for decades. There are four stable and distinctive research directions, namely:
Research and development of new mineral processing equipment: develop crushing and grinding equipment and separation equipment with advanced principle, novel structure, energy saving and high efficiency. 16 the invention patent and utility model patent have been applied for and obtained. Selective abrasive wear-resistant materials for mining: Selective abrasive wear-resistant materials for mining is one of the most distinctive research directions of this discipline, with outstanding research results. The textbook Crushing and Grinding, edited by Professor Li Qiheng, an expert of the older generation, and later adapted by Professor Duan Xixiang, has been a general textbook for mineral processing engineering in China for decades and is still adopted by more than a dozen universities. The theory and application of selective grinding in this direction and scientific ball filling method have achieved direct economic benefits of more than 700 million yuan.
Processing technology of refractory and unconventional mineral resources: In view of the "poor and miscellaneous" characteristics of mineral resources in China, especially in the western region, this discipline has carried out long-term and arduous research, and made important progress and remarkable achievements in the efficient recycling of refractory copper oxide ore, high-phosphorus hematite and low-grade pyrite.
Department of resource development engineering
There are two undergraduate majors: mining engineering and safety engineering, among which mining is one of the trump cards of Kunming University of Science and Technology, and its school history can be traced back to 1925 Department of Mining and Metallurgy, Institute of Technology, private Donglu University. 200 1, Yunnan province identified mining engineering as a provincial key construction discipline. In terms of postgraduate training, there are three master of engineering majors (mining engineering, safety technology and engineering, geotechnical engineering), 1 master of engineering major (geotechnical engineering) and 1 "safety production training center", which is the first batch of national secondary safety production training institutions recognized by the State Administration of Work Safety in 2003.
