Hunan University has two campuses, namely the South Campus and the North Campus. Address of South Campus: No.2 Lushan South Road, Changsha City, Hunan Province. Address of North Campus: No.0/09, Shijiachong Road, Changsha City, Hunan Province. Hunan University is a national key construction university in the new period of reform, opening up and socialist modernization. It is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, directly under the Ministry of Education of China, and is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. It ranks among the national "world-class universities", "985 Project" and "21project".

The school has more than 4,000 teaching and administrative staff, including 2,250 full-time teachers, 2 academicians/kloc-0, 5 members of the discipline evaluation group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, 56 national special talents, 24 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 20 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 6 winners of the National Master of Teaching Award, and 0/4 young scientific and technological innovation leaders in the innovative talents promotion program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

There are 4 "innovative research groups" of the National Natural Science Foundation, 8 innovation teams of the Ministry of Education, and the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Bureau 1 innovation team.

Campus environment:

The campus of Hunan University, built on the mountain, has experienced the process from Yuelu Mountain to Xiangjiang River. 1903 after the restructuring of Yuelu Academy, most of the schools established on its original site still use the original academy building as the school building. The buildings of Yuelu Academy are mostly left over from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, mainly in black and white tones. It is the largest existing college complex in China. 1926 Hunan university was formally established and began to build new teaching facilities around the academy.
