I took the self-taught exam in order to squeeze time and stick to it during the holidays. The university is assigned to teach in Pujiang Middle School, with two classes of Chinese and nearly 140 students. As a new teacher, it takes a lot of time to prepare lessons and correct homework, and few people finish their work before 65,438+00 every night. Self-study can only be done after 10 in the afternoon and at odd times during the day. I think passing every course is a step towards victory. I remember that after the last class, I felt relieved, relaxed and ready to fly.
The Department of Journalism of China Academy of Social Sciences is a school-running unit that trains senior journalists based on People's Daily. I studied two grades of courses here at the same time, and I passed all the first year. Then, I decided the topic of my thesis, and studied Shi Ximin, a famous newspaper activist during the democratic revolution, an outstanding organizer of the New China Party in propaganda and culture, and a cultural celebrity in my hometown. My tutor was Shi Ximin's first graduate student in my department in his later years, which brought me great convenience in writing my thesis. In June, 1998, I successfully passed my thesis defense and got my master's degree in law (journalism) one year ahead of schedule.
During my study in Beijing, I strengthened my belief in applying for a Ph.D. in Chinese Department of Peking University. Its abundant teachers and quiet campus environment attract me everywhere. Starting from March 1997, I went to Peking University. It is a fine tradition of Peking University to accept aspiring young people outside the school for free, and I am fortunate to enjoy this honor. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has to cross the whole city of Beijing to go to Peking University, and it takes several hours on the road, so it is not allowed to sit in regularly. I only listen to one or two classes in each class to appreciate the professor's lecture style and understand the general content of the course. Mainly to buy textbooks for self-study. It's much better to have a famous teacher to guide you than to grope for it yourself. In this way, I insisted on completing the main courses of China history major in Chinese Department by myself. But I can't receive a systematic education like a formal student. In the beautiful Yan Garden, I feel sad alone: when can I take a place in this huge university that accepts talents from all over the world?
From the second half of 1998, with the support of Shi Ximin's relatives and friends and the Propaganda Department of the county party committee, I began to write a biography of Shi Ximin on the basis of my master's degree thesis, and completed the first draft at the end of the year and sent it to all localities for comments. I took advantage of this gap to make the final sprint for my postgraduate entrance examination. 1999 at the end of March, I looked like a scholar in the imperial examination era. After studying hard for many years, I packed my books and went to Beijing to catch the exam. My competitors are fresh graduates of my major and university teachers, including those from Peking University. As an interdisciplinary self-taught youth, can I compete with them? I took the exam with the mentality of being a mock exam, and my psychological pressure was not great. I play normal. After I published the list, I ranked first in the history major of China in the Chinese Department of Peking University. Unified recruitment? Batch admission. Starting from a junior college, I entered the highest institution of higher learning through self-study from the grass-roots units in a county to study for the highest degree, even the doctoral supervisor of Peking University was quite surprised. I finally realized my dream for ten years. I was ecstatic and felt empty in my stomach. My basic skills are far from the requirements of a real doctoral student. In the later doctoral study stage, I will cherish this hard-won and almost extravagant learning opportunity even more.
Here, I would like to especially thank my dear grandma and parents, who are my great family ties and become my strong spiritual motivation and economic backing. As early as when I was studying in Zhejiang Normal University, my father tried his best to inquire about the information of the self-taught examination and buy me teaching materials. When I was lax in my study, they repeatedly warned me that I would never stop studying; When the source of life was cut off, I was able to get my master's degree because of the thrift and full support of my family. From the economic account, parents have invested a lot of money in the training of our brothers, but the most gratifying thing is to see that all three brothers have become doctoral students and are learning and making progress in different scientific fields.
