There is no Wuhan Institute of Technology, only Wuchang Institute of Technology. The main differences between Wuchang Institute of Technology and Wuhan University of Technology are:

Wuchang Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate college with engineering, management and multidisciplinary development approved by the Ministry of Education, and belongs to private colleges. Wuchang Institute of Technology was founded in Hubei Institute of Industry and Trade 1997. During 1999, Hubei Institute of Industry and Trade cooperated with Wuhan University of Science and Technology to establish "Wuhan University of Science and Technology Higher Vocational and Technical College (Industry and Trade Campus)", which mainly implemented higher vocational and technical education. In September 2000, the school built a new campus. In February 2004, the school was an independent college. 20 1 1 May, the branch school was changed to Wuchang Institute of Technology, and the establishment of Wuhan University of Science and Technology Central South Branch was cancelled.

Wuhan University of Technology originated from 1898. Governor Zhang Zhidong of Huguang invited the Qing government to establish Hubei Technical School. [1] On May 27th, 2000, the former Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Jiaotong University and Wuhan University of Automotive Technology were merged. Wuhan University of Technology originated from 1948 China People's Liberation Army Northeast Military Region Ministry of Industry Professional School. After inheritance and development, 1985 was renamed Wuhan University of Technology, and 1998 was transferred from the former State Bureau of Building Materials Industry to the Director of the Ministry of Education. Wuhan Jiaotong University originated from 1946 National Maritime Vocational School. After inheritance and development, it was renamed Wuhan Jiaotong University on 1993, which was under the former Ministry of Communications. Wuhan Institute of Automobile 1958 originated from Wuhan Institute of Technology. After inheritance and development, it was renamed Wuhan University of Automobile Technology on 1995, and it was affiliated to the former China Automobile Industry Group Corporation.
