Since 20 16, South University of Science and Technology has carried out joint postgraduate training with famous universities at home and abroad, such as Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, University of Warwick, University of Birmingham and University of Leeds. After meeting the graduation standards and thesis requirements of the two universities, I obtained a degree from the cooperative university and a diploma from South University of Science and Technology.

The joint training plan of South University of Science and Technology and mainland universities takes two forms: recommended exemption and general recruitment. There are two ways for graduate students to pursue doctoral degrees: direct doctoral studies and "application-examination system", and they are selected on the basis of merit.

The joint training project between South University of Science and Technology and overseas universities (referred to as overseas joint training) adopts the "application-assessment system" to recruit doctoral students. In 20 18, South University of Science and Technology will recruit joint graduate students majoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, biomedical engineering, materials, machinery, mechanics, aerospace, electronics, information, environment, machinery, computer, optics, ocean and economy.
