Xiangya Medical College of Central South University is an affiliated college of Central South University. It is one of the first batch of pilot universities of "excellent doctor education and training plan" in China, and one of the first batch of five pilot universities of eight-year medical education.

Yali Hospital was established in 19 14. It is one of the earliest western hospitals. It was founded in China by the Yali Association of the United States, with Yan Fuqing as the first dean. During the Anti-Japanese War, it moved to Shanghai and Yuanling, Hunan. Later, he founded the National Xiangya Medical College, which runs schools in Changsha and Shanghai. Hunan Medical University, formerly known as Xiangya Medical College, was founded in 19 14, and is the first Sino-foreign cooperative medical college in China.
