The library of Henan University of Science and Technology is one of the most abundant libraries in western Henan. In the official LIS index released on 20 18 and the ranking of academic ability of libraries, the academic ability of the library ranks 22nd in the national undergraduate libraries. The library consists of the main library of Kaiyuan Campus and the branch library of the old campus, with a total construction area of 86,700 square meters, of which the main library of Kaiyuan Campus has a construction area of 69,000 square meters. It adopts the campus * * * construction mode, has the function of Luoyang Science and Technology Library, and provides services for teachers, students and social readers at the same time, with an average daily readership of nearly 8,000 and an annual flow of more than 2.4 million.

Henan University of Science and Technology is located in Luoyang City, Henan Province. It is a university jointly established by the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Henan Province, a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China, a national demonstration university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel, and a governing university of Silk Road University Alliance. It is one of the first batch of universities for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technology transfer by the Ministry of Education, and one of the three high-level comprehensive universities under key construction in Henan Province.
The school 1952 was established in Beijing, the capital. 1956, in order to meet the needs of the construction and layout of the national industrial base, it was moved to Luoyang, and later renamed Luoyang Institute of Technology, which belongs to the Ministry of Machinery Industry. 1998, transferred to Henan province for management. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government merged Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical College and Luoyang Agricultural College to form Henan University of Science and Technology.
