Architectural history
Zhongshan Bridge in Zhangzhou City, commonly known as the old bridge, is located outside the south gate of Zhangzhou City, across the south river (that is, Nanmenxi) downstream of Xixi of Jiulong River. Ferry was built here in ancient times, and pontoon bridge was built in Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1 13 1 to 1 162). Jiading was rebuilt as a stone bridge in its early years, with a length of 24 feet and 4 feet (about 74 meters), and was named Jintong Bridge. Because the river is narrow, there are two sandbars in the middle. After the bridge was built, the river was not smooth, and every time there was a flood, the upstream countryside was flooded. In the fifth year of Jiading (12 12), the county magistrate ordered Zhao Ru to dredge the river and build trunk bridges and stone dikes in the south of the bridge, but the flood remained. In the tenth year of Ming Chenghua (1474), a great flood occurred and the bridge embankment burst. After that, it was repeatedly repaired and destroyed, and it was repeatedly destroyed and repaired. In the early years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, the South Bridge was still a stone bridge, with shops on both sides (in Shazhou) and a "Yuexi Pavilion" on the left. In 14 (1925), the old bridge in Liang Shi was demolished and converted into a reinforced concrete continuous deck. 15 was completed and opened to traffic, which is an important bridge on Zhao Long highway. 195 1, bridge reconstruction, 426.64 linear meters long. 1987, in order to discharge the rapids of the west river, the residential shops in the sandbar in the bridge were demolished and the sandbar was leveled. It is still a temporary highway bridge. In July, 2005, citizens were forbidden to pass because of security problems. The notice issued by Zhangzhou municipal government department said: from July 1 day to1October 15, 2005, all ships were prohibited from sailing under the bridge; Ships and floating facilities are not allowed to sail or berth, and personnel are not allowed to stay in the waters extending 100 meters under the bridge or around the axis of Zhongshan Bridge. The 79-year-old bridge will be demolished, and the specific time will be decided by the government.
condition
Zhongshan Bridge in Zhangzhou City is already a dangerous bridge, and some bridges have been seriously damaged due to the continuous impact of large iron-shell sand carriers coming and going on the river. The deck of Zhongshan Bridge is badly damaged and uneven, the iron railings have long rusted, the monument at the bridge head is tilted, and cracks appear between the pier and the deck. Although there is a sign that this bridge is forbidden to pass, there are still sand carriers full of stream sand trying to pass through bridge opening. Their hulls hit the old piers on both sides, making a loud noise and causing the bridge to vibrate.
The total length of Zhongshan Bridge in Zhangzhou is 440 meters, the foundation is riprap pile, and the pier structure is masonry pier, so the overall architectural performance is poor. The superstructure is a cast-in-place steel plate concrete continuous beam, and the railings are reinforced concrete columns and steel pipe handrails. The bridge was completed on 1926, which has exceeded the design service life. The pier foundation has been seriously hollowed out, and many piers have cracks in different degrees. After on-site investigation, experts believe that it belongs to the fourth-class bridge (dangerous bridge). Due to the hydraulic changes of the Jiulong River in the urban area, Zhongshan Bridge has become the largest upstream bridge on the urban river.
