High school student scale

There are 45,274,900 high school students and vocational school students (ordinary high school and secondary vocational education) in China. According to the data in 2006, the scale of high school education in China expanded rapidly during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, and the gross enrollment rate increased significantly. The gross enrollment rate in senior high school reached 52.7%, and the average annual growth rate of students in ordinary senior high schools was 14.93%.

With the number of high school graduates increasing year by year, even if the existing college entrance examination admission rate of 65%~70% is maintained in the next few years, the average number of college students in China will increase by more than 1 10,000 per year, of which the number of undergraduate students will increase by about 500,000 per year, which requires us to explore new paths and modes in developing popular undergraduate education.
