In general, prisoners need to go through three months of education, just like the entrance examination. After passing all the assessment standards, they can officially start serving their sentences in prisons, and they will be assigned to different prisons. Moreover, generally speaking, prisoners should first study collectively and practice walking, running and counting. After the training, they will be assigned to each prison area.

Article 61 of the Prison Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) carries out educational reform for prisoners, and implements the principle of teaching according to individual, classifying education and convincing people by reasoning, and adopts the method of combining collective education with individual education and prison education with social education.
