Although sex research and sex education in China have developed for nearly a century, they have not been paid attention to and popularized nationwide. Compared with other stages of sex education, the development and popularization of children's sex education is neglected and restricted, and it is very difficult to start. At present, there is no unified opinion on whether to educate children about sex. Some people support sex education for children, but others oppose it.
However, influenced by traditional culture, people are usually ashamed to talk about sex, and they are even more opposed to sex education for children, which leads to the backward concept of sex education for children in China. Although some sex education textbooks have been published in China, most of them are aimed at middle and high school students, and few are aimed at preschool children, which leads to the lack of sex education textbooks for young children. Furthermore, the teachers engaged in sex education in kindergartens in China mainly come from psychology or biology majors. Although they generally think it is very important to implement sex education in kindergartens, they still don't have a deep understanding of its necessity and lack the correct attitude and methods to implement sex education in kindergartens, which leads to the weakness of sex education teachers in China.
