Undergraduate course:

IELTS 5.5, excluding English Foundation 5.5, including English Foundation 4.5.

Graduate students:

IELTS 6.5 and above, including 5.5 for English course. Take three other online English exams this year.

Academic requirements

Undergraduate application requires a diploma from an ordinary high school or an art middle school.

Postgraduate and above applications require relevant diplomas or work background.

Professional requirements

Time: Conduct formal interviews in Beijing and Shanghai every year 1 1 month.

Form: Students who interview in China will have a 30-minute interview to prepare three works with different styles. 15 minutes to show professional works, 15 minutes for interview. The interviewer will ask questions to find out the students' love for music and school and their development potential.

Students majoring in music education will have audition and trial teaching requirements for a certain question in the interview. In addition, there will be 30 minutes of on-site writing on the day of the interview to write a short article on the given topic.

* Students who choose to interview in London instead of China will have relatively complicated examination links, such as music literacy, improvisation and written examination (see official website for details).

* Due to the epidemic situation this year, all candidates are tentatively scheduled to submit videos online. If there is any change, please pay attention to official website update or consult us.

Tips: In order to show respect and professional attitude, please prepare the music score of your work, turn to the correct page, arrange it and give it to the interviewer.

Submit video

After submitting the application on UCAS, you will be informed to upload the video on the Embark system (if you need help, please ask Mr. Chen on WeChat to get the video tutorial).

Embark's file size is limited to 5G, but our suggestion is to control the video within 2G. The file format will be automatically converted to mp4 for opening in the browser. The original files can be mpg, mpeg, MP4, mov, avi, wmv, m4v and vob.

You can record video with your mobile phone or computer, but please ensure the video quality.

Time: The normal submission time is the beginning of each year. Please refer to our official information for details. Please contact Mr. Chen for late submission of the application form.

Form: Please note that the recording requirements of the following works may change slightly due to different courses. If necessary, we will contact you to get your further cooperation.

Please introduce yourself in English at the beginning of the video, including your name, music learning background and experience, goals and why you want to apply for this major in our school;

Show three works of different styles. If it is too long, it can be extracted, and the exhibition part of the work should not exceed 15 minutes, or multiple files can be uploaded separately;

Composition students can upload 3-6 works of any style. The collection should reflect your music production ability, and it is best to upload corresponding audio-visual materials.

* Postgraduate candidates may arrange online meeting or evaluation with the main course teacher according to different professional conditions.
